1961 Gibson GA-8T Discoverer
We present an original 1961 Gibson GA-8T Discoverer amplifier with Tremolo. Made in Kalamazzo, Michigan.
This Gibson amplifier is fairly a 10 watt combo. Stocked with the original Jensen speaker that sounds healthy and good. Speaker dated: 220105 – 5th Week of 1961. All transformers are original to this amplifier. The power cord is changed to a 3-prong cord and serviced with some new capacitors & resistors so it can run perfectly. Even comes complete with its original footswitch that is in perfect working order.
The Gibson GA-8T Discoverer has a rich tremolo that sounds great. It also has a great breakup, everything you could want in a tweed era amp. Cosmetic, this model comes in blonde tolex which is overall clean with some light stains and scuffs throughout. The faceplate is clean with very light rust/pitting and all numbers and letters still clean and fully visible. The Gibson lettering on the front is also intact.
To keep it as original as possible you need a stepdown transformer. We have these in stock and can be purchased through Guitar Hunter. https://guitarhunter.dk/product/toroidy-ats300va-stepdown-converter-230-110v/
