1962 Fender Jaguar – Sonic Blue
We present an all original 1962 Fender Jaguar in Sonic Blue finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
This incredible pre-CBS Fender Jaguar Sonic Blue is absolutely stunning to play and has all of the pre-CBS features including clay dots on the dark rosewood fingerboard. This is the first year of production for the Jaguar and with matching headstock. The maple neck has some small play spots that is worn down to the bare wood. C-shaped profile which is very slender at the nut, gaining notable shoulder and roundness as you travel up the dark fretboard.
This rare Fender Jaguar Custom Color has beautiful nitro lacquer checking and nicks, dings and other cosmetic wear spots on the front and back of the body. The original Sonic Blue finish is still very strong Blue with only minor yellow spots on the contour body. The original nut and frets has plenty of life left. There is so much resonance of this instrument when you strike your first chord, and that dynamic, soulful quality really translates into the amplified signal. The Jaguar offers tonal options to both thicken up the sound and alternately make it even more sinewy and thin.
Upon inspection of the bridge pickup with the plastic cover removed, you could visibly see a break in the thin copper bridge pickup wire, thus making a weak connection. To remedy this, the solder joint on the base of the pickup was heated to remove the attached copper pickup wire. Then a small broken portion of the wire was removed before reattaching the wire after reaching the point of the break. The pickup is still nice and strong, and sounds good with no rewound. Otherwise, pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with its original Fender brown tolex hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
