We present an all original and 100% complete 1964 Gibson Firebird V in Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This outstanding Gibson Firebird V is from 1964 – the second year of production. The Gibson Firebird V was introduced in 1963 and in 1964 Gibson made 510 pieces at the factory. The 1964 Gibson Firebird V was the equivalent to the SG Standard of that time.
It features a lightweight mahogany body with 1-piece mahogany neck. Bound rosewood fretboard with trapezoid pearl inlays. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic retainer bridge with metal saddles. Two patent-number mini-humbuckers with a great and well balanced output. Three-layer white over black plastic pickguard with a “Firebird” emblem painted on in red and eight screws and there is a little common crack in the pickguard. Gold plastic bell-shaped knobs with metal tops and individual Gibson Banjo-style tuners with rearwards tulip-shaped metal buttons.
Overall, this 1964 Gibson Firebird V is in excellent condition with minor play wear, nicks, dings and shows some beautiful finish checking. Just a super example with no breaks or any repairs!
Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and 100% correct.
