1965 Gibson Firebird III Non Reverse in Pelham Blue

We present an all original 1965 Gibson Firebird III Non Reverse in its original Pelham Blue finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Extremely rare piece and one of the most sought after Gibson Custom Color. This model with 3 P-90’s was Gibson’s answer to the Fender Stratocaster with tremolo. Overall, this is an exceptional piece with only very few nicks, dings and other cosmetic wear. The original Pelham Blue finish is strong in the color, not turned too greenish. Gorgeous finish checking all over the body and neck. The body is a light weight one-piece mahogany with a standard glued-in neck. Strong 1-piece mahogany neck with beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. The vibrato tailpiece is in perfect working order with no issues.

The P-90’s are very balanced and deliver a very dynamic and nuanced tone, with the heft and midrange fullness that only comes with this combination. The Kluson tuners are intact and turns smoothly. The reflector knobs is in perfect working order with no issues.  The serial number is very clean on the back of the headstock. Overall this is a super rare piece of history as well as a top collector guitar.

Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.

Comes with its original hardshell case with black exterior and plush yellow interior. The original latches and handle are also intact.
