We a proud to present this super rare 1997 Fender Custom Shop Monterey Pop Stratocaster, handpainted by Pamelina to recreate the artwork on the Strat played by Jimi for his iconic set at the 1967 festival. The guitar has an alder body, “C” shaped maple neck with a vintage-style radius and fret size, three vintage-style single-coils, and it has an awesome white fringed leather gigbag included inside of the hardshell flight case. This is a must-have for any hardcore Jimi Hendrix fan!

In 1967, Jimi Hendrix played a show at the Monterey Pop Music Festival using a red-and-white custom-painted Fender Stratocaster. During his encore, he set the guitar on fire in what would become one of his most iconic moments. In 1997, to celebrate Monterey Pop’s 40th anniversary, the Fender Custom Shop commissioned artist Pamelina H. to hand-paint 210 reproductions of Hendrix’s hearts-and-swirls guitar. These custom-shop reproductions are now arguably the most-desired Fender production models in existence. A “Monterey Pop Strat,” as it’s known, is nearly impossible to find for sale.

This is number 202 of 210 and is in Mint Condition. The guitar comes with a beautiful white suede gig bag, matching strap, backstage pass, and a protective roadcase. It comes from a collector that purchased it back in 1997 and has been kept in the box almost all of the time.
