I present an exceptional acoustic guitar from Martin’s Golden Era. An original 1935 pre-War Martin 0-17 in nearly mint condition.
This guitar is a crack free example and it has been storage in many years without being played. A piece like this is near impossible to find in that condition. This guitar is so amazing and a super rare piece of history as well as a top collector piece and notch player.
This 0-17 is an early and super rare 14 frets model with desirable build qualities. Scalloped bracing with all mahogany body. Original Grover”clipped Plate” individual with peened cogs. Absolutely a rare & valuable tunerstyle that you can come across. Many old Martin’s are missing these original tuners. As is common with these models, the plastic tuner tips are shrunken, so the cream buttons have been changed to newer vintage style.
The headstock has the most gorgeous & figured rosewood with gold Martin decal that nearly haven’t faded. The original Ebony nut is in perfect shape with a lot of life left.
My professional luthier have made a perfect neck reset, reglued the original rosewood bridge with a new bone saddle. Also brand new frets with a perfect setup. New bone bridge-pins and bone strap end button ( but the original black plastic bridge-pins and the black end-pin is included, so it’s all there ) No strap button ever installed in the neck heel. This guitar is just perfect and ready to be played. A small guitar with impossibly huge voice. This 0-17 will surprise everybody when you make your first strum. So much expressive, warm full, with great overtones and sustain.
It even comes complete with its original Geib hardshell case
Nut width – 1 3/4″
Lower bout width – 13 9/16″
