We present an original 1952 Gibson J-45 in its original Sunburst finish. Made In Kalamazoo, Michigan.

This amazing flat top guitar was owned and used by a folksinger, career teacher and artist, since 1960.

It features Cuban mahogany backs and side with a very nice reddish brown sunburst on the spruce top. Overall, this wonderful flat top is in great shape with a lot of mojo and playwear. The blackened peghead veneer has some finish checking, scaling, and flaking of the finish which exposes some wood beneath. The neck is all original no cracks or repairs, but it has some wear from being played, through the finish in some areas.

The Gibson decal logo is intact and the original truss rod cover is intact. It has the normal common top crack under the pickguard close to the high E-string. It has a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard has large pearl dot inlays. The rosewood bridge has two pearl dots at the ends of the bridge pin row. Original tortoise plastic pickguard. The binding around the top edge of the guitar is antiqued white binding with a black accent line seen on the face. The back binding is just one single ply of the antiqued white binding. There is also antiqued alternating white and black lines for the soundhole rosette.

Comes with its original hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.

All work done by professional luthier:

  • Brand new frets.
  • Brand new nut
  • New handmade rosewood bridge include bone saddle.
  • Neck reset
  • New Kluson copy tuners with cream buttons installed.
  • 5 inch crack repaired just off the center seam of the guitar back, near butt of guitar.
