We present a gorgeous 1964 pre-CBS Custom Color Stratocaster, in its original candy apple red finish.
This Custom Color guitar is all original and it’s a prime example of why these early Fenders are so coveted. A beautiful playing neck and sounding instrument in fantastic condition, with just enough light cosmetic wear to give it some mojo. This pristine AAA figured maple neck is a medium C-shape profile with beautiful dark curved (veneer) rosewood fretboard with clay dots. Overall this guitar is in excellent condition and only has very few nicks and dings. Finish checking and has some small belt buckle wear on the back. To keep the original nut without fret buzz, there is added little shim under it.
The Grey Bobbins Pickups are very strong, warm and clear with a lively tone, woody and glassy at the same time, with a perfect balance between the set.
Pickups and electronics/wiring are untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct. This guitar is so amazing and a super rare piece of history as well as a top collectors piece and top notch player.
Comes complete with its original hardshell case, whammy bar and ashtray. Latches and handle are in perfect working order
