About Guitar Hunter

When Passion Becomes Business

I have always been incredibly fascinated by guitars from an early age, especially top-tier brands such as Fender and Gibson. My journey into the guitar-dealing business began in 2004 when I started working at Musikhuset Aage Jensen—the largest music store in Denmark at the time. I was in charge of the Fender and Fender Custom Shop department, which allowed me to build a strong network of people, dealers, and experts from all over the world.

From that point on, I spent years collaborating with some of the best vintage guitar experts globally to deepen my understanding and knowledge of the market. Dealing with vintage and rare guitars requires a great deal of technical expertise and experience.

Fast forward to 2018, I finally decided to start my own business: Guitar Hunter. It began as a small showroom outside of Copenhagen before expanding into a larger physical store in the heart of the city. Since launching Guitar Hunter in 2018, I have devoted myself almost entirely to sourcing some of the finest, most pristine, and rare guitars in the world. Opening Guitar Hunter has not been without its risks—the time and money invested in this business are almost impossible to quantify.

I also want to acknowledge how incredibly fortunate I’ve been to meet and collaborate with some of the world’s most respected vintage collectors. Through them, I’ve had the opportunity to acquire some of the amazing vintage guitars that have passed through my shop. My motto for the store has always been: “Small details make a big difference.”

There are countless reasons why I love vintage guitars and have been captivated by them since I was young. Working with vintage guitars feels like stepping into a time capsule from a long-lost era.

The smell of an old guitar, the aged wood, and the pickups wound decades before I was even born—you simply can’t compare that to a guitar made today. It was a different time back then, with a different pace, where the focus was on building and designing high-quality instruments rather than mass production.

Those guitars were all built by hand—naturally imperfect, and that’s exactly what made them perfect in my eyes. Every vintage guitar tells a unique story. It’s not the seller or dealer that tells the story, it’s the guitar itself.

That’s what drives me: the fascination with tracing a guitar back to its origin. These vintage instruments were at the forefront of many significant cultural movements and shifts, and their stories continue to inspire me.
