1954 Gibson Les Paul Standard – Goldtop (All Gold)
We present an all original 1954 Gibson Les Paul Standard in its original All Gold finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Condition
Overall, this stunning ’54 All Gold Les Paul is in fantastic shape with nicks, dings and other cosmetic wear on the body and neck. Beautiful finish checking all over the body and neck that really gives this guitar a stunning character. The gold finish looks stunning, with many layers of gold as you normally see on all-gold Gibsons, with a few spots where the finish has tarnished into a slight green and light finish-checking, such as on the back of the neck and on the lower bout of the body. You can also see a natural patina developing across the top, which adds even more character and vintage appeal.
It features a one-piece mahogany body with a maple top, as well as a one-piece mahogany neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays. The ‘Les Paul Model’ silkscreen is clean and fully visible. It features the 6x original Kluson tuning machines with the original tuner buttons, which all turns smoothly. The original wraparound bridge is in perfect working order, and the guitar intonates perfectly.
Originality
This historical and incredibly rare ’54 All Gold Les Paul Standard is 100% original throughout. Exactly like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in ’54. It. The original P-90 pickups are well-balanced and healthy and it goes without saying that they sound absolutely indredible.
It features the original wrap-around bridge and the intonation is great. All the plastic parts such as the pickguard, output jack-plate, and toggle-switch plate (also known as the poker-chip) are all original to the guitar. It features the 4x original speed knobs which all turn smoothly and works perfectly.
Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes complete with the original 4-latch brown Gibson hardshell case with pink interior. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
