1961 Gibson ES-330 TD – Sunburst
We present an original 1961 Gibson ES-330 TD in Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Aside from a professional refret, a newer bone nut, and three replaced saddle screws (the originals are in the case), this guitar is all original and boasts all the features of this model’s first iteration. The hardware shows great patina on the ABR-1 bridge and lighter patina on the nickel tailpiece and tuning gear housings. A previous owner has written their name next to the factory “ES-330TD” stamp.
This early model features the classic “Mickey Mouse Ear” rounded double cutaways, black pickup covers, dot inlays on the rosewood fretboard, nickel hardware, and Bumblebee tone caps. The ES-330TD is notably acoustically resonant — the richness of its unplugged tone translates exceptionally well through the pickups, delivering a dynamic and nuanced sound with the heft and midrange fullness that only a fully hollow body paired with a quality set of P-90 pickups can offer.
The mahogany neck has a slim C-shaped profile. The rosewood fretboard features dot inlays. The original Kluson Deluxe single-line tuners are intact and turn smoothly, complete with their original white buttons. The serial number is very clean on the back of the headstock, and the “Gibson” logo is in pearl inlay on the headstock face.
The pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and original, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with its original hardshell case, featuring a brown exterior and plush pink interior. The original latches and handle are also intact.
