1950 Fender Broadcaster – Blond
We present an all original and 100% complete 1950 Fender Broadcaster in Blond finish. Made in Fullerton, California. The 1950 Fender Broadcaster is the first commercial electric guitar in the world that started it all.
The history of this incredible piece is following
It was purchased by a student in the late 50’s from his teacher. The student was a hobby guitarist, but never intended to sell the guitar and never did. He passed away 20 years ago and the Broadcaster was passed on to his son. Around 8 month ago the son passed away and no one in the family felt the need to have it, therefore his widow sold it outside Denver, Colorado.
This 1950 Fender Broadcaster is overall excellent condition with minor nicks and dings and shows sign of natural honest play-wear around the body and neck. No breaks or any repairs. The original blond finish on this Broadcaster is still looking beautiful and has sign of little mojo with no touch up or any overspray. 100% original Blond finish! Both pickups are perfect and well balanced as well. Overall, this 1950 Fender Broadcaster sounds incredible good with so much resonance and tone.
It features an incredibly solid light-weight ash body and a wonderful profile fretted maple neck with 21 frets and black dot position markers. The frets are perfect with a lot of life left. Single “round” string tree on the headstock with individual closed-shell “single” Kluson Deluxe tuners “PAD APPLD 2356766″with oval metal buttons and slot-head screws.
Taller dome knobs and all screws on this guitar is slot-head screws as it supposed to be including the truss rod. The headstock with the original maple plug are clean as it can be, with original and crispy Fender Broadcaster decal. Including the original brass saddles on the bridge that intonate perfectly. The neck pocket reads “Thadio / 11-13-50”. Blackguard Telecaster aficionados will note that the spelling “Thadio” is not the more commonly spelled version” Tadeo” (Gomez), but it’s common to find this spelling on Broadcasters. Check out Naco Banõ’s fabulous book ‘The Blackguard’ for more examples.
Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and 100% correct.
Comes complete with the original Bulwin “Thermometer” case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
