1964 Fender Precision Bass – Candy Apple Red
We present an all original 1964 Fender Precision Bass in its original Candy Apple Red finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
Condition
This stunning 1964 Fender Precision Bass is well-worn and full of character. It’s clear this bass has been loved for many years and used extensively on stage and in the studio. A pre-CBS Precision Bass in custom color Candy Apple Red is not something you come across every day. Playability is excellent, with great intonation. It features a comfortable, straight maple neck with a beautiful dark veneer rosewood fingerboard and clay dot inlays. The lightweight alder body is highly resonant. The original frets are in excellent condition and have plenty of life left.
Originality
This Fender Custom Color Precision fully lives up to its “holy grail” reputation. It is 100% original throughout, with no modifications, breaks, or repairs. Just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1964. It even includes the original bridge and pickup covers. The original pickup sounds fantastic — exactly what you’d expect from a ’64 Precision Bass.
The pickup and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound components. All original and correct.
Includes the original Fender black non-logo tolex hardshell case, with one broken latch.
