1965 Fender Precision Bass – Olympic White
We present an all original 1965 Fender Precision Bass in its original Olympic White finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
Condition
Overall, this early Fender Precision Bass is in excellent condition, with only minor nicks, finish checking, coil cable marks on the back, and other light cosmetic wear. The original Olympic White finish remains strong, with slight yellowing typical of mid-’60s custom colors. It’s not as bright-white as pre-CBS Olympic White finishes, but also not as heavily yellowed as later CBS-era finishes with excessive clear coat.
The neck is in fantastic shape, and the rosewood fingerboard features beautiful grain and clay dot inlays. The original frets and nut are in excellent condition with plenty of life remaining.
Originality
This remarkable ’65 Precision Bass is 100% original, exactly as it left the Fullerton factory in 1965. The original pickup sounds exceptional. It even includes the original chrome pickup and bridge covers. Playability is excellent, and the bass is highly resonant — a lightweight instrument that lives up to its “holy grail” reputation, with solid intonation. Outstanding tone and a huge, dark-sounding response.
The pickup and electronic wiring remain untouched and fully intact, with no broken solder joints or rewound components. All original and correct.
Comes complete with its original hardshell case. Latches and handle are fully functional.
