1965 Fender Precision bass – Olympic White
We present an all original and 100% complete 1965 Fender Precision bass in its original Olympic White finish. Made in Fullerton California.
Condition
Overall, this early Fender Precision bass is in excellent condition with only few spots of nicks, finish checking, marks on the back from the coil cable and other cosmetic wear. The original Olympic White finish is still strong with some slight yellow-ing, which is typical for a mid-60’s custom color. It’s not completely bright-white like you see on early pre-CBS Olympic White finishes, but at the same time not completely yellow’ed like later CBS finishes with a lot of clear-coat.
The neck is in fantastic shape and the fingerboard has a beautiful rosewood with clay dots. The original frets and nut are in perfect shape with a lot of life left.
Originality
This incredible ’65 Precision Bass is 100% all original just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1965. The original pickup sounds fantastic. It even comes with the original two chrome pickup and bridge covers. The playability is excellent and it’s extremely resonant. A lightweight bass that lives up to its “holy grail” bass status, with solid intonation. Outstanding tone and huge dark sounding response.
Pickup and the electronics wiring remains untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickup. All original and correct.
Comes complete with its original hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
