1966 Gibson J-200 – Sunburst
We present an all original 1966 Gibson J-200 in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The J-200’s iconic construction and stunning visual appeal make it one of the most desirable acoustic guitars Gibson has ever produced. This particular example was clearly built using the finest tonewoods available in Kalamazoo during the mid-to-late 1960s. It offers exceptional playing comfort and delivers an outstanding sound— powerful, resonant, and rich in that punchy, woody tone that defines vintage Gibson acoustics. In superbly clean condition, this guitar still features its original Tune-O-Matic bridge, enhancing both tone and sustain.
This crack-free J-200 boasts breathtaking figured maple on the back and sides, a spruce top, and a bound dark rosewood fingerboard adorned with pearl inlays. The single-bound headstock features the classic pearl Gibson logo and crown inlays. The Sunburst finish is consistent across the entire body, and the original orange oval label remains clearly visible through the soundhole. The original frets and nut show minimal wear and still have plenty of life left.
The original rosewood mustache bridge plate is fully intact and remains in excellent condition. Overall, this vintage flat-top guitar has been extremely well preserved, showing only minor lacquer checking around the body — typical for an instrument of this age.
Comes with a newer hardshell case with fully functional latches and handle.
