Kirk Hammett’s 1959 Black Fender Stratocaster – A Legendary Guitar from Metallica’s Iconic Lead Guitarist
We are proud to offer an extraordinary 1959 Fender Stratocaster, previously owned and played by Kirk Hammett — the legendary lead guitarist of Metallica. This rare and iconic Black Stratocaster is accompanied by exclusive “case candy,” including never-before-seen photographs of Kirk performing live on stage with Metallica, all captured by his personal photographer.
This historic guitar was played during Metallica’s Hardwired… To Self-Destruct WorldWired Tour, most notably during the band’s timeless hit “Nothing Else Matters” — adding even greater significance to its already remarkable legacy.
An original letter from Kirk Hammett himself is included, personally verifying and authenticating the guitar’s history and provenance. This letter was received directly from Kirk, offering collectors and fans absolute confidence in its authenticity.
How We Acquired This Legendary Guitar
In June 2022, during Metallica’s performance at the renowned Danish festival Copenhell, Kirk Hammett visited our store. We had a memorable conversation about vintage guitars — and found him to be remarkably humble, genuine, and passionate about the instrument’s legacy.
