At Guitar Hunter, we are always on the lookout for exceptional original vintage instruments to add to our inventory. If you’re thinking about selling your vintage guitar or bass, we would love to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For
We are only interested in original, unmodified Fender and Gibson guitars and basses made before 1980, as well as vintage Fender amplifiers. We do not buy refinished, heavily modified, or reworked instruments.
We also buy entire collections, not just individual guitars. With over 20 years of professional experience and a large global customer base of collectors and musicians, we have the expertise and network to sell even rare and high-value items.

When emailing, include high-quality photos and a description of the instrument(s). If calling, and we don’t answer, please leave a voicemail with details, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Evaluation & Payment
We must see the instrument in person to complete any transaction. We cannot give or confirm a final price by email or phone. If needed, we’re happy to travel to inspect the instrument, or you can ship it to us after signing a purchase agreement.
If the item matches expectations, we will complete the purchase immediately. If not, we’ll ship it back to you.
ID Requirement
To finalize a sale or trade, we require:
- A valid passport or driver’s license
- Your full name and address
We cannot buy or trade instruments from individuals who cannot provide valid photo ID. This is a non-negotiable requirement.

Bought in Denmark from the widow of the original owner in 2022: All Original ’64 Fender Stratocaster – Sunburst. Untouched and with the rare 4-ply pickguard. What a guitar!
Here you see an early 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard “Burst” that came to us in 2019.
I’m pictured with the former owner, who originally bought it in 1969 while playing in a local amateur band called Benzon’s Railroad in Denmark — and it’s remained in Denmark ever since.
