1950 Fender Deluxe Amp Tweed 5A3 – TV Front Panel
We present an original 1950 Fender Deluxe Tweed 5A3 model – TV Front Panel. Made in Fullerton, California.
This very early TV-front Deluxe remains in far better condition than most examples, both externally and internally. The original tweed covering is exceptionally crisp and has avoided the typical smoke staining seen on most amps of this age, showing only light wear, primarily on the corners. The faceplate shows some very minor corrosion, mostly near the fuse holder. The leather handle is a high-quality reproduction.
Internally, the amp features a mix of period-correct tubes and a professionally executed capacitor service. No major modifications have been made — just the addition of a three-prong power cord for safe and reliable operation. The original transformers are intact and fully functional.
This 1950 Deluxe was originally hand-wired by Lupe, with her masking tape name tag still present inside the chassis — a charming and rare detail. The original Jensen speaker is in excellent condition. The amp sounds fantastic and runs very quietly, thanks to the fresh filter caps. It’s one of the cleanest and most authentic examples of this classic recording and gigging amplifier we’ve seen.
The chassis is clean, the chrome control panel shines beautifully, and the original white lettering and stock knobs are all well preserved.
To keep it as original as possible you need a stepdown transformer. We have these in stock and can be purchased through Guitar Hunter.
