1955 Fender Precision Bass – Blond
We present an all original 1955 Fender Precision Bass in its original Blond finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
This fantastic and rare ’55 Precision Bass showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of early Fender instruments. As an early 1955 model, it retains several 1954-style features, making it a highly collectible transitional piece. Included is its ultra-rare original “Poodle” hardshell case, a prized accessory in its own right.
Condition
This bass is in excellent vintage condition, exhibiting honest play wear consistent with decades of use and care. There’s light buckle rash on the back, along with minor nicks, dings, and surface wear that contribute to its authentic vintage character. The original Blond nitrocellulose finish has aged beautifully over the ash body, showing remarkable depth and warmth.
The one-piece maple neck remains clean, with minimal play wear, and the original frets and nut still have plenty of life. The headstock face is exceptionally clean for its age, and the chrome hardware is well-preserved throughout. Lightweight and highly resonant, this instrument delivers a tone and feel that only decades of natural aging can provide.
Originality
This 1955 Precision Bass is 100% original throughout, down to the smallest detail. Just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1955. The original single-coil pickup offers a rich, full-bodied tone with outstanding clarity and balance — characteristics that define the legendary early P-Bass sound.
All components, including the black lacquered pickguard, chrome hardware, and one-piece maple neck, are factory-original.
The electronics and wiring remain untouched, with no replaced parts, broken solder joints, or rewound pickups.
It also includes the original Poodle hardshell case, fully functional with all latches and handle intact.
