We present an original 1961 Fender Jazzmaster in its original Olympic White finish with factory Gold hardware. Made in Fullerton, California.
This Fender Jazzmaster is so rare to come across with factory Gold hardware. The original masking tape behind the pickguard says; Olympic White W. Gold. The Jazzmaster itself is powerful, resonant and extremely versatile. This is everything you’d expect from a guitar produced in Fender’s golden age period. Its all original except for one tuner that was broken and changed to a period correct nickel One-Line-Kluson tuner. Otherwise, all original with all factory Gold including the truss rod nut.
Cosmetically, this guitar shows a lot of “buckle rash” on the back and nicks and dings on the front and sides, with spots of notable wear down to the bare wood and an assortment of small nicks and scratches to the back of the guitar. The original Olympic White finish has turned yellowish over time but 100% all original finish with no overspray. The neck profile is so comfortable and has the most beautiful flamed neck we have ever seen from that timeframe on a pre-CBS Jazzmaster. It features beautiful dark rosewood slab board with clay dots. The original frets are low but still in perfect working order including the original nut. The original black bottom pickups are very balanced and strong and sound incredibly good. Overall, just a stunning historical Fender Jazzmaster.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with its original Fender brown hardshell case w/yellow interior. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
