1956 Gibson ES-125 – Sunburst
We present an all original 1956 Gibson ES-125 in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The Gibson ES-125 features an adjustable intonated bridge and trapeze tailpiece. This model was Gibson’s workhorse electric, and it’s not overly adorned with inlays— giving this Sunburst a stripped-down, mean look.
It’s genius all the way around, with a bound top and back with cream binding. A great player, featuring an amazing original P-90 pickup that sounds healthy and balanced. Only beautiful finish checking, with some wear and dings that give the guitar a great vintage vibe and aesthetic.
The neck is straight, and the profile is the typical large, round early ’50s style —comfortable, and great for both tone and sustain. The ES-125 has a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. There are no cracks or breaks. The original frets need to be dressed to achieve perfect playability.
It’s 100% original throughout – Just as it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1956.
The pickup and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickup. All original and correct.
Comes with its original Gibson chipboard case. The handle is missing, and we recommend not using it.
