1956 Gibson J-50 – Natural
We present an original 1956 Gibson J-50 in its original Natural finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
There’s truly nothing like the tone of a vintage Gibson. This 1956 J-50 is a perfect example of why these guitars are so revered. It delivers a warm, woody low end, crisp and articulate trebles, and that signature dry, open Gibson sound that vintage enthusiasts crave.
This classic Gibson flat-top features scalloped X-bracing, a beautifully aged spruce top, and mahogany back and sides. It offers excellent playability with low action and clear intonation across the neck. The neck profile is a slightly slimmer, rounded shape that feels smooth and comfortable in hand. Every detail reflects the craftsmanship and quality of this era.
The original finish showcases attractive checking along with honest playwear —nicks, dings, and other cosmetic signs of use. The bridge plate remains original, and the guitar is fitted with newer vintage-style double-line Kluson tuners.
Original frets and nut still have plenty of life left. The pickguard has shrunk slightly over time, resulting in the typical small surface crack near the fretboard below the high E-string — purely cosmetic and very common. Otherwise, this is a crack-free example. No touch-ups or overspray —100% original finish throughout.
Includes its original chipboard case, with all latches and handle in fully functional condition.
