1961 Fender Stratocaster – Sunburst
We present an original late 1961 Fender Stratocaster in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
We acquired this beautiful guitar directly from the original owner’s family in 2017 in Idaho Falls, USA, and it has been part of a private collection ever since. Now there’s a rare opportunity to own an exceptional piece of history.
This 1961 Fender Stratocaster is all original and 100% complete, except for brand new frets and nut (the original frets and nut are included in the case).
It features a superb-playing neck with a stunning rosewood slab fingerboard and clay dots. Even more remarkable, it comes complete with its original instruction manual, strap, tremolo arm, and original bridge cover. Overall, it’s in excellent condition, with minor nicks, dings, light finish checking, and other cosmetic wear—including the typical pickguard crack near the lower horn. Otherwise, no breaks or repairs! The original one-line Kluson tuners are clean and function perfectly.
This 1961 pre-CBS Fender Stratocaster has a bold, beefy tone that takes you back to where it all began. It sounds incredible, with plenty of twang and a woody resonance. The guitar remains structurally sound with no cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Pickups and electronics/wiring are untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. All original and correct.
Includes the original Brown Fender Hardshell Case (one screw in the handle has been replaced). Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
