1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop
We present an original 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This historic 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop comes from the same year Gibson transitioned to the Sunburst finish for their Les Paul Standard models. It’s in very good condition and displays fantastic finish checking and honest playwear, giving this guitar an incredibly cool appearance — some of the most amazing mojo we’ve ever seen.
This Gibson Les Paul Standard is the holy grail, featuring a rare pair of P.A.F. “Patent Applied For” humbucking pickups that are completely undisturbed and factory stock. The pickups sound incredible — rich, dynamic, and well-balanced. The original Kluson Deluxe tuners are in good condition, function perfectly, and turn smoothly.
All plastic parts, including the pickup rings, are original throughout. They have aged beautifully and have melded seamlessly with the rest of the guitar. Everything fits together 100%. It retains the original stop-bar tailpiece and Tune-o-Matic bridge. This guitar has been played and loved for many years — and will continue to be for many more.
The guitar is all original except for a professional refret; it even retains the original nylon nut. No breaks, no repairs. Otherwise it’s exactly as it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1958. This 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop plays and sounds phenomenal. It features a one-piece mahogany body with a maple top, and a one-piece mahogany neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays.
Pickups and all electronics/wiring are untouched and fully intact — no broken solder joints, no rewound pickups. Everything is 100% original and correct.
Comes with its original brown Gibson hardshell case with pink lining. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
