1958 Gibson LG-3 – Natural
We present an original 1958 Gibson LG-3 in its original natural finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This vintage small-body Gibson acoustic is a joy to play and represents the top-tier small-bodied acoustic model Gibson offered during the 1950s. Overall, this guitar is in very good+ condition, showcasing tons of character with beautiful finish checking throughout the body. There is a single, minor crack near the original tortoiseshell pickguard — a common occurrence on guitars of this age. Aside from that, it only shows light surface wear.
It features a solid X-braced spruce top, solid Honduran mahogany back and sides, and a one-piece mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The scale length measures 24 3/4″ (629 mm), paired with a comfortable, slightly chunky C-shaped neck profile.
The original Kluson tuners function smoothly and precisely. The white tuner buttons have been replaced — a typical upgrade due to the original buttons often shrinking or deteriorating over time. The original nylon nut remains intact and measures 1-11/16 inches. The original tortoiseshell pickguard is in excellent condition with no cracks or warping. The rosewood bridge, along with the six original bone bridge pins and bone saddle, are all original to the guitar. This stunning vintage flattop offers a rich, resonant voice with remarkable tonal depth.
Includes the original alligator chipboard case.
