Description & Specifications

1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior – Sunburst

We present an original 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior in Sunburst. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Overall, this Gibson Les Paul Junior is in extremely clean condition with only minor playwear. The original Sunburst finish is vibrant and clean, still retaining that red layer which wonderfully contrasts the natural finish on the back, complete with beautiful, tiny finish checking. The original frets are in great shape with plenty of life left in them. It even comes complete with the original hang tags.

This Gibson is all original except for new white tuner buttons, as the original buttons had shrunk over time. Otherwise it’s exactly like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1959.

A Gibson single-cut mahogany body with a one-piece mahogany neck is just a great combination. Gorgeous rosewood fretboard with dot inlays. This guitar has a nice, big neck profile that is a joy to play. The strong P-90 “dog ear” single-coil pickup sounds fantastic. Black single-layer pickguard, aluminum lightweight wrap-over tailpiece. The original Kluson tuners are still in working order and turn perfectly.

The single-cutaway Junior models from 1957–1958 benefit from an improved bridge position compared to earlier models, which suffer from leaning bridges due to placement and shallow bridge studs.

The pickup and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickup. All original and correct.

Comes with its original alligator chipboard case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
