1964 Fender Jaguar – Olympic White – Gold Hardware
We present an all original, late 1964 Fender Jaguar in Olympic White finish with factory gold hardware. Made in Fullerton, California.
Finding a pre-CBS Fender Jaguar with factory gold hardware is exceptionally rare. This vintage Fender Jaguar is an absolute joy to play and visually striking.
Condition
Overall, this fantastic custom color ’64 Jaguar is in fantastic condition. It displays beautiful checking across the body, along with nicks, dings, and other signs of cosmetic wear on both the front and back. Over the years, some of the factory gold plating has faded, but overall the gold remains in excellent condition, including the gold truss rod nut. The original frets are in great shape with plenty of life left. The original Olympic White finish is stunning and have only yellow-ed slightly over the years.
The C-shaped maple neck is clean and incredibly comfortable, slender at the nut and gradually gaining shoulder and roundness as you move up the rosewood fretboard.
Originality
It’s 100% original throughout – just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1964. Comes complete with the original gold whammy bar and gold bridge cover.
This Jaguar features its six original gold Kluson tuners — interestingly, five are Double-line Klusons and one is a Single-line Kluson. This configuration isn’t unusual for this era, as 1964 was a transitional year when Fender moved from Single-line to Double-line Kluson tuners toward the end of the year. The two original single-coil pickups are well balanced and sound wonderful.
There is an impressive resonance to this instrument when you strike your first chord, and that dynamic, soulful quality translates beautifully into the amplified signal. The Jaguar offers a wide tonal range — from rich, full-bodied sounds to thinner, more sinewy tones.
Pickups and electronics/wiring are untouched and fully intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with its original Fender non-logo hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working condition.
