Description & Specifications

1961 Fender Stratocaster – Sunburst

We present an original 1961 Fender Stratocaster in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Fullerton, California.

Condition

Overall, this late ’61 Stratocaster is in great condition, though it does show some nicks, dings, and other cosmetic wear across the body. It has some light finish checking which in our opinion really adds to the amazing atmosphere of this pre-CBS Stratocaster uitar. It has the typical pickguard crack near the lower horn. Otherwise, there are no breaks or repairs.
The original one-line Kluson tuners are clean and function perfectly. The original Sunburst finish remains strong and looks absolutely killer. It features a straight and beautiful maple neck with a bit of flame, and a super unique rosewood slab fingerboard with a gorgeous mineral streak and clay dots.

Originality

This 1961 Fender Stratocaster is all original except for a professional refret and a newer nut. The original frets and nut are included in the case. It comes complete with the original tremolo arm and strap.

It features the three original black-bottom single-coil pickups, which are well-balanced and healthy. This 1961 pre-CBS Fender Stratocaster has a bold, beefy tone that takes you back to where it all began. It sounds incredible, with plenty of twang and a woody resonance. The guitar remains structurally sound, with no cracks, breaks, or repairs.

Pickups and electronics/wiring are untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. All original and correct.

Comes with the original brown Fender hardshell case, which unfortunately has sustained some damage around the bottom latch. It has been repaired and stabilized and has received two new screws in the latch holder. One screw in the handle has also been replaced. The latches and handle are in perfect working order.
