1961 Gibson ES-330 TDC with Factory Sideways Vibrola – Cherry
We present an original and extremely rare 1961 Gibson ES-330 TDC in Cherry, featuring the factory Sideways Vibrola. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Condition
This vintage Gibson ES-330 TDC is in excellent condition, with only minor nicks, dings, and cosmetic wear. It’s all original, aside from brand-new frets.
The mahogany neck is clean, with a slim C-shaped profile that gains subtle depth in the upper registers of the fretboard, and features a full 1 11/16″ nut width. It has a beautifully dark rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. The nickel hardware, including the ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge, is clean and in excellent condition.
No breaks or repairs — just a perfect, crack-free example that has been lovingly played and well-maintained. A strap button has never been installed.
Originality
This fully hollow-body Gibson ES-330 model includes the factory Sideways Vibrola, which is extremely rare on this model. It’s all original besides for newer frets, otherwise it’s just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1961. Originally a custom order in 1961, this guitar is a true historical piece. The original black P-90 pickups are well-balanced and sound fantastic.
The original Kluson Deluxe single-line tuners are fully functional and turn smoothly, with original white tuner buttons. The serial number is clearly visible on the back of the headstock, and the “Gibson” logo is inlaid in pearl on the headstock face. The “ES-330 TDC” factory stamp inside the body is also clean and legible.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact—no broken solder joints and no re-wound pickups. All components are original and correct.
Includes the original Gibson/Lifton hardshell case with pink interior. All latches and the handle are in perfect working order.
