Description & Specifications

1961 Fender Stratocaster – Sunburst

We present an all original 1961 Fender Stratocaster in its original Sunburst finish, made in Fullerton, California.

This late 1961 pre-CBS Stratocaster is an early example of Fender’s iconic design, featuring a clean maple neck with a rosewood slab fingerboard and clay dot inlays. Super light-weight alder body. Its classic configuration and early Fullerton craftsmanship capture the essence of the Stratocaster’s formative years. This Stratocaster delivers the bold, beefy, and twangy tone that defined early Fender guitars, with a lively, woody resonance that is both authentic and inspiring to play.

Condition

This guitar is a true time capsule and remains in near-mint condition. The finish is strong and well-preserved, showing only tiny nicks and a few small dings on the back. The pickguard and all the original plastic parts are crack-free and perfect. The original one-line Kluson tuners are clean and function flawlessly. The clean maple neck is straight and pristine, with original frets and nut in perfect condition. The original three black-bottom single-coil pickups are perfect and sound fantastic

Originality

This pre-CBS 1961 Fender Stratocaster is 100% original throughout — just as it left the Fullerton factory. It even comes complete with its original matching-number hang tag, tremolo arm.

Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. All original and correct.

Comes complete  with its original brown Fender hardshell case that remains in excellent condition. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
