1961 Gibson ES-355 TDSV – Cherry
We present an all original 1961 Gibson ES-355 TDSV in its original Cherry finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This vintage Gibson guitar is in excellent condition, showing only minor fading and cosmetic wear. The original gold hardware has naturally aged, giving it a beautiful patina. What makes this ES-355 TDSV truly special is that it was Gibson’s top-of-the-line ES model during this period. This model features stereo wiring and the original Varitone switch.
It boasts a beautifully figured, double cutaway laminated maple body and comes equipped with a rare pair of P.A.F. (Patent Applied For) humbucking pickups. These pickups sound exceptional — powerful, well-balanced, and completely untouched, remaining in factory-original condition. The clean and intact oval orange label features the handwritten ES-355 designation. The one-piece 1961 mahogany neck has a classic profile, paired with an ebony fingerboard featuring block inlays and binding. Additional features include full body binding, gold hardware, and the iconic split-diamond headstock inlay. The original Cherry finish has aged to a stunning watermelon hue.
It’s 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1961.
The original frets are in excellent condition, as is the nylon nut. The original “Pat. Pending” Grover tuners function flawlessly and turn smoothly. The bound ebony fretboard, mother-of-pearl block inlays, Gibson Custom-bound headstock with split-diamond inlay, and original factory Bigsby tailpiece complete the guitar’s premium specifications.
The pickups and electronics are untouched and fully intact, with no broken solder joints and no re-wound pickups. 100% original and correct throughout.
Comes with the original brown Gibson hardshell case with pink lining. All latches and handle are in perfect working order.
