1961 Gibson Les Paul (SG) Junior – Cherry
We present an all original 1961 Gibson Les Paul (SG) Junior in its original Cherry finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
For your consideration, this is a Gibson Les Paul Junior featuring the classic SG body shape. It has a solid mahogany body with beveled edges, a one-piece mahogany neck, and a dark rosewood fretboard with 22 jumbo frets and inlaid pearl dot position markers. Overall, this Junior is in stunning condition, with only a few nicks, dings, and minor cosmetic play wear. The original frets have been dressed but still have plenty of life left.
This vintage guitar features a headstock with the gold silk-screened “Gibson” logo and “Les Paul Junior” script. It retains the original Kluson Deluxe strip tuners with white plastic oval buttons. The two-layer (black-on-white) laminated plastic pickguard is mounted with eight screws. It includes two controls (one volume, one tone) on the lower treble bout and black plastic bell-shaped knobs with white markings. The wrap-over bar bridge/stud tailpiece is paired with a factory-installed tremolo unit. Overall, this is a fantastic playing and great-sounding vintage Gibson Les Paul Junior in excellent condition.
It’s 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1961.
The pickup and electronics remain untouched and fully original, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickup. All components are original and correct.
Comes with a newer hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
