1961 Gibson Melody Maker – Sunburst

We present a 100% complete and all original 1961 Gibson Melody Maker in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Overall, this is in absolutely stunning condition – near mint with minor cosmetic wear. The original frets are in great shape and there are plenty of life left in them. The guitar is perfect!

This 1961 Melody Maker features the wider nut width 1-11/16″ and full size scale length – it’s definitely a joy to play and a fantastic solid body Gibson electric guitar from the golden period. It has a 1-piece single Cutaway mahogany body, 1- piece mahogany neck with dark rosewood fingerboard and pearl dots.

The one single-coil pickup is strong and well balanced. The original open-back Kluson Tuners turns perfectly and the cream tuner buttons looks beautiful and hasn’t crumble at all like a lot of them tend to do. Black singlelayer pickguard, aluminum lightweight wrab-over tailpiece.

Pickup and the electronics/wiring remains untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickup. All original and 100% correct.

Comes with its original Chipboard case. Latches in perfect working order, but it’s missing the handle.

  • Nut width: 1-11/16
  • Pot dates: 1960
  • Bridge pickup: 7.43 kOhm
  • Weight: 2.610 Kilograms
