1962 Fender Jaguar – Sunburst
We present an all original 1962 pre-CBS Fender Jaguar in Sunburst finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
This incredible pre-CBS Fender Jaguar is truly a collector’s dream, dating from the very first year of production: 1962. It is in absolutely mint condition—unbelievably clean. The guitar comes directly from the original owner, Jacob, who purchased it brand new in November 1962. At the time, Jacob was studying music in Tacoma, Washington, and bought the guitar from the American Conservatory of Music. He has kept it ever since, including the original strap, matching-number hang tag, and manual.
It features minimal finish checking on the body. The original 3-tone Sunburst finish looks fantastic, with barely any fading. The original alder body has beautiful grain, clearly visible through the Sunburst finish. The neck is in incredibly clean condition, with almost no play wear or signs of fading. The original nut and frets still have plenty of life left. The tortoiseshell pickguard is as clean as it gets, with no cracks.
Comes with the original bridge cover, tremolo arm, string mute, and even includes the original foam for the mute. The six original single-line Kluson tuners work perfectly and turn smoothly.
It’s 100% original throughout – just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1962.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes complete with its original brown Fender hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
