1962 Gibson ES-335 TD – Sunburst
We present an all original and early 1962 Gibson ES-335 TD in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This historic piece is in near mint condition, with only minor fading spots and light cosmetic wear. It features a beautifully figured laminated double-cutaway maple body. There are no breaks or repairs on this guitar. It even comes with its original hang tags and manual. This hollow body model with the iconic Mickey Mouse ears is equipped with a rare pair of P.A.F. (“Patent Applied For”) humbucking pickups. The pickups sound phenomenal — well-balanced, untouched, and completely factory stock.
The oval orange label is clean and intact, with the handwritten ES-335TD designation. It features a one-piece mahogany neck with a bound rosewood fretboard and dot inlays. The original frets are like new, including the nut. The original Kluson single-line/double-ring tuners work perfectly and turn smoothly.
This vintage Gibson ES-335 semi-hollow is rich in harmonic overtones, incredibly expressive, and a perfect reminder of why vintage Gibsons are so sought after. The high end is articulate without being abrasive or harsh, allowing single-note runs to resonate with beautiful cascading harmonic content. Notes bloom with natural compression, giving this 335 a balanced, robust voice — a truly perfect example of the ES-335 that every guitarist desires.
It’s 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1962.
The pickups and all electronics remain untouched and fully intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickups. 100% original and correct.
Comes with its original black Gibson hardshell case with yellowed lining. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
