Description & Specifications

1962 Gibson SG Junior – Polaris White

We present an original 1962 Gibson SG Junior in its original Polaris White finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

This vintage Gibson SG Junior features beautiful finish checking all over the body. There are nicks and dings around the frets and other areas on the guitar. The original frets show some playwear, but overall, there is still plenty of life left in them. Beautiful dark rosewood fretboard with pearloid dot inlays. Two “3-on-a-strip” Kluson tuners are in perfect working order. We received this guitar directly from Brian Ray, who played it live with Paul McCartney. You can find YouTube videos featuring him and this very guitar.

The original Gibson P-90 pickup sounds incredible — strong, balanced, and full of character. The 1-piece, lightweight mahogany body offers exceptional resonance. Acoustically, it’s lively and clear. It absolutely roars and can deliver everything from glassy, articulate cleans to growling, heavy overdrive.

An induction coil was added to the ground for noise reduction but has since been removed. Otherwise, the pickup electronics and wiring remain untouched and fully intact — with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickup. All original and correct.

Comes with its original alligator chipboard case. The latches and handle are also fully functional and intact.
