1963 Fender Jazz Bass – Blond
We present and all original and 100% complete 1963 Fender Jazz Bass in Blond finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
The Fender Jazz bass was introduced back in 1960 and was designed as an upgrade model. With the sleeker “offset” body adapted from the Jazzmaster but with a much slimmer 1-1/2″ nut width, it had a racier look and sleeker feel than the Precision. Multi-pole pickups offered a wider range of sounds, with a sharper attack and more definition to the tone. The Jazz Bass was rather more expensive than the Precision and in the pre-CBS period was built in smaller quantities.
Overall, this is 1963 pre-CBS Fender Jazz Bass is excellent example and a true Pre-CBS Jazz bass, played-in but remaining completely well preserved over the years. It has minor nicks, dings and other cosmetic play wear. It features slim tapered neck, beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with clay dots. The headstock and neck are very clean with minor wear. The original Tortoise plastic pickguard is perfect with no breaks. A fantastic light-weight ash body where you can see the beautiful grain through the original Blond finish. The original frets are perfect with plenty of life left. Just a perfect Fender Jazz Bass from Fender’s golden age.
Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with the original brown hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
