1963 Fender Stratocaster – Sunburst & 1962 Fender Deluxe Amp
We present an all original 1963 Fender Stratocaster in Sunburst finish together with an original 1962 Fender Deluxe Amp. Made in Fullerton, California.
Will only be sold as a set, as they belong together and were originally purchased as a set in 1963.
The history of this piece
Larry bought this guitar and amp together in 1963 in Tacoma, Washington, where he and his wife Eileen lived while he was stationed and serving in the US Army. Larry took excellent care of both the guitar and the amp, never modifying or altering anything on either of them. This set is 100% original and complete. Unfortunately, Larry passed away from cancer in 2017. We purchased this Strat and Deluxe directly from Larry’s widow (Eileen Moore), along with his daughter and grandson.
This guitar and amplifier are truly exceptional—one of the cleanest sets we’ve ever had. A remarkable piece of history and a collector’s dream, as well as a top-tier sounding guitar and amplifier. The guitar even comes with its original hardshell case, ashtray, tremolo arm, Fender polish cloth, polish tag, and most importantly, the original matching-number hang tag. An absolutely stunning instrument with that unmistakable vintage Fender tone. This beauty would enhance any high-end collection, but it most definitely deserves to be played.
This is a “one-owner” guitar that has spent most of its life in its hardshell case and has seen very little playtime. Only a few small chips, dings, and minor cosmetic wear. No breaks or repairs on this pre-CBS Stratocaster. The original frets and nut still have plenty of life left. The neck features a rosewood fingerboard with clay dots. The black-bottom pickups are well-balanced and sound incredible. The strings are low, play beautifully, and ring out clearly.
This exceptional Strat is 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1963.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact—no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
