1964 Fender Stratocaster – Lake Placid Blue
We present an original and rare 1964 Fender Stratocaster in its original Lake Placid Blue finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
This Fender Stratocaster pre-CBS Custom Color; Lake Placid Blue Stratocaster is all original except for a professional refret and a new handcrafted bone nut. Otherwise exactly like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1964.
It’s a prime example of why these early Fender Stratocasters are so coveted. The maple neck has a medium C-shape profile with a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard featuring clay dots. It’s set up as a super fast and easy player. The headstock is as clean as it can be, and the “transition logo” is also perfect and intact. The original Double-Line Kluson tuners work perfectly.
The condition is very good, with a lot of nicks, dings, belt buckle wear on the back, and finish checking that gives this guitar a lot of mojo. The Mint Green pickguard is in perfect shape with no cracks or repairs. The original Grey bottom pickups are very warm and clear, with a lively tone — woody and glassy at the same time — with a perfect balance across the set. An incredible pre-CBS Custom Color that has been well loved but at the same time well kept since 1964.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes with its original hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order. Includes period-correct polish cloth and original Fender strap.
