1966 Fender Jazzmaster – Blue Ice Metallic
We present an all original and early 1966 Fender Jazzmaster in its original Blue Ice Metallic finish. Made in Fullerton, California.
History
This Breathtaking custom color Jazzmaster is a very early ’66 example featuring ‘witch hat’ knobs.
Condition
Overall it’s in excellent condition with minor nicks, dings and other cosmetic wear. No breaks or any repairs. There’s a few small spots on the back and sides of the body where the finish has been worn off down to the bare wood. The original custom color Blue Ice Metallic finish looks absolutely stunning with some fading turning it into a more green-ish metallic look due to the fact that Fender used more clear-coat in this period compared to pre-CBS. The original frets and nut are in overall good condition with plenty of life left. The original white pickguard is overall clean. Featuring an alder body and a beautiful straight maple neck with a dark rosewood fret-board. The original black decal is clean and intact.
Originality
This ’66 Fender Jazzmaster is 100% all original except for period correct strap buttons, since the former owner had put strap locks on. There’s added new foam underneath the pickups, so you can adjust the pickup height. Totally normal and doesn’t affect the value. Other it’s just like it left the Fullerton factory back in early ’66. Completely untouched including all the soldering. It features the 6x original double-line Kluson tuners – all works perfectly and turns smoothly. The two original grey-bottom pickups are very well-balanced. It even comes with the original tremolo-arm.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and 100% correct.
Comes complete with the original black Fender hardshell case with orange interior. Latches and handle in perfect working order.
