Description & Specifications

1966 Fender Precision Bass – Lake Placid Blue

We present an all original 1966 Fender Precision Bass in its original Lake Placid Blue finish. Made in Fullerton, California.

Condition

Overall, this Fender Precision Bass is in great condition, though it has some beautiful finish checking all over the body, as well as some nicks, dings and other cosmetic wear. The neck is in fantastic shape, featuring a stunning mix of flame and birdseye maple and a beautifully dark veneer rosewood fingerboard with pearl dots. The original frets and nut are in perfect condition with plenty of life left. The original Lake Placid Blue finish remains strong, with only minor green spots.

Originality

This fantastic custom color bass is 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Fullerton factory back in 1966. Comes complete with its original bridge and pickup covers. This Lake Placid Blue Fender custom color has become extremely rare and is one of the most sought-after custom colors for players and collectors. The playability is excellent, and it’s extremely resonant. This Precision lives up to its “holy grail” bass status, with solid intonation and the feel you want in a bass. Outstanding tone and a huge, dark-sounding response.

The pickup and electronics wiring remain untouched and fully intact, with no broken solder joints and no rewound pickup. All original and correct.

Comes complete with its original hardshell case. Only one broken latch; otherwise, the other latch and handle are in perfect working order.
