1966 Gibson EB-2D – Sunburst – 1-3/4″ Nut Width
We present an all original 1966 Gibson EB-2D in its original Sunburst finish, custom-ordered with a rare 1-3/4″ nut width. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This vintage Gibson semi-hollow body bass is truly special and extremely rare, as it was custom-ordered with a wide 1-3/4″ nut width. It’s in overall excellent condition with only minor nicks, dings, and other cosmetic wear. No breaks or repairs.
This is the highly desirable dual-pickup version of the Gibson EB-2 bass — the “D” in the name stands for “dual.” Introduced in 1966, this is a first-year production model. It features the classic EB humbucker pickup in the neck position and a mini-humbucker in the bridge position.
All solder joints are completely untouched. This EB-2D bass also includes the original ‘Baritone’ switch and a 3-way pickup selector. The four original Gold Reflector Knobs are clean and intact.
Laminated maple top, back, and sides with a one-piece mahogany neck, dark rosewood fingerboard, and dot inlays. The original frets are in excellent condition with plenty of life left. Comes with chrome hardware and a stud/bridge compensated tailpiece. It’s 100% original throughout – Just as it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1966. A stunning vintage Gibson bass with great playability.
Comes complete with its original case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
