1966 Gibson Melody Maker D – Pelham Blue
We present an all original 1966 Gibson Melody Maker D in its original Pelham Blue finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
It features a one-piece mahogany neck and a one-piece mahogany body, which gives it a rich, full tone. The two single-coil pickups are sensitive and well-balanced. It’s in great shape, with some nicks, dings, finish checking, and other cosmetic wear. No breaks or repairs!
The original Pelham Blue finish remains a strong blue with some greenish fading. Overall, this is a fantastic 1966 Gibson solid-body electric guitar, featuring a full-sized neck and scale length. It plays beautifully and looks stunning in its rare Pelham Blue finish. The SG-style Melody Maker has a comfortable, rounded neck with a rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays, and a factory “Maestro” Tremolo tailpiece.
It’s 100% original throughout – just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1966.
Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no re-wound pickups. All original and 100% correct.
Comes complete with its original Gibson chipboard case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
