1967 Gibson Melody Maker D – Fire Engine Red
We present an all original 1967 Gibson Melody Maker D in its original Fire Engine Red finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The guitar comes with a beautiful story. In 1968 a young man in Miami gave this guitar as gift to the woman he had fallen in love with to win her over. He taught her to play and she kept the red guitar for the next 50 years, along with one of the Gibson lesson books in the original case.
This model acclaimed by players, teachers, and students for its fine sound, big tone, sensitive pickup, feather-light touch. Overall it is in great shape with only some dings and other cosmetic wear. A great solid body electric guitar with full sized neck and scale length. Super nice playing guitar and it looks STUNNING in its rare Fire Engine Red finish. The SG style Melody Maker has a comfortable neck with rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. Two great sounding single coils pickups, Gibson hat knobs, and a “Maestro” Tremolo tailpiece.
It even comes complete with its original chipboard case.
Pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
