Description & Specifications

1968 Gibson Melody Maker D – Sparkling Burgundy

We present an all original 1968 Melody Maker D in its original Sparkling Burgundy finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

This gorgeous vintage guitar is acclaimed by players, teachers, and students for its excellent tone, rich sound, responsive pickups, and feather-light touch. The guitar is in great shape, with only minor dings and cosmetic wear. A superb solid-body electric guitar with a full-sized neck and scale length. It plays exceptionally well and looks stunning in its rare Sparkling Burgundy finish.

The SG-style Melody Maker features a comfortable neck, rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, two great-sounding single-coil pickups, Gibson hat knobs, and a “Maestro” tremolo tailpiece.

It’s 100% original throughout – Just like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1968.

Pickups and electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact—no broken solder joints, no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.

Comes complete with its original chipboard case, coil cable, and strap.
