1969 Martin D-28 – Natural
We present an original 1969 C.F. Martin D-28 in its original Natural finish. Made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, USA.
This 1969 C.F. Martin D-28 is as fine an example as you’re likely to find. Instruments in this condition are exceptionally rare. This iconic dreadnought delivers powerful tone, rich projection, and exceptional sustain. The mahogany neck remains in fantastic shape, free from dings or missing lacquer. The rosewood veneer peghead, featuring the classic CF Martin logo decal, is in excellent condition with no fading. The premium wide-grain spruce top is simply outstanding. Overall, this guitar shows only minimal cosmetic wear, including a few minor nicks, dings, light finish checking, and gentle signs of use. The body features beautifully straight-grained rosewood back and sides — Martin considered straight grain to be the most premium tonewood available during this period.
The ebony fingerboard features graduated pearl dot inlays. The top is adorned with elegant 6-ply white/black/white bindings, while the back features classic 3-ply white/black/white binding. A decorative wood marquetry strip runs down the center of the back. Additional vintage appointments include an antiqued white heelcap and end wedge, original “red eye” bridge pins, and Grover tuners. The newer frets show very little wear, and the original ivory nut remains in excellent shape with plenty of life left.
Comes complete with its original Victoria Luggage hardshell case. All latches and the handle are in perfect working order.
