1934 Gibson L-00 – Small Sunburst
We present an original 1934 Gibson L-00 in its original Small Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
There’s something undeniably special about the early 1934 sunburst L-00’s. For many small-body Gibson enthusiasts, these are the holy grail. Whether it’s the lighter top construction, the tight sunburst pattern, the exceptionally comfortable neck profile — or all of the above — once you play a great ‘34, it’s hard to go back.
This particular example is a highly sought-after first-generation 14-fret L-00, featuring the original small sunburst pattern. The 14-fret neck offers improved playability while preserving the tonal charm of the era. Constructed with a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, this flat-top remains in excellent condition for its age, with only typical cosmetic wear such as nicks, dings, and play marks.
The rosewood bridge with rounded rear corners is consistent with 1933–1934 production. It retains its original bent-tab Grover strip tuners, with upgraded tuner buttons for improved functionality. The neck profile is exceptional, delivering rich sustain, warmth, and vintage tone.
Includes a newer hardshell case with fully functional latches and handle.
