1942 Gibson J-45 Banner – Sunburst
We present an original 1942 Gibson J-45 Banner in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This vintage flat-top acoustic guitar sounds and plays unbelievably well. Featuring Factory Order Number (FON) 7115H, this is the earliest known batch of J-45 guitars ever produced by Gibson — making it one of the very first J-45s to leave the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo. The mahogany neck features a full, rounded profile with an adjustable truss rod. The fingerboard is made from beautifully dark rosewood. It has mahogany back and sides, topped with a stunning Adirondack spruce top. The original finish is an early 1940s-style wide Sunburst with a soft and elegant gradation.
The neck displays attractive play wear, along with a few nicks, dings, and other light cosmetic signs of use. Overall, the original finish remains in remarkable condition with gorgeous, natural finish checking. The original open-back tuners are fully functional and turn smoothly. This incredible-sounding Gibson J-45 Banner offers extraordinary tonal richness and warmth.
Includes a newer hardshell case.
