1952 Gibson ES-5N – Natural
We present an all original 1952 Gibson ES-5 in its original Natural finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Overall, this 1952 Gibson ES-5 is a super clean example with minor nicks, dings, and other typical playwear. The Gibson ES-5 is a fully hollow electric guitar and was the most deluxe laminated wood model Gibson offered at the time. It features black-covered P-90 pickups, three volume controls (one for each pickup), and one master tone knob. The controls are topped with 5/8″ high barrel knobs. All hardware is gold-plated. Beautiful flamed maple neck with rosewood fingerboard featuring pearl block inlays and a rosewood bridge.
The laminated maple body has a stunning flamed grain on the top and back. The pickguard is five-ply laminated plastic with a beveled edge; the trapeze tailpiece has pointed ends and three raised parallelograms.
The headstock is single-bound with a mother-of-pearl crown and Gibson logo inlaid into the peghead overlay. The back of the peghead is painted black, also referred to as a black stinger. The Kluson Sealfast tuners have plastic “tulip” single-ring buttons. A gold strap button has been added to the heel for playing while standing.
This 1952 ES-5 is a fantastic-playing archtop hollowbody guitar. A perfect example from Gibson’s golden age.
It’s 100% original throughout – Just as it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1952.
The pickups and the electronics/wiring remain untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no re-wound pickups. All original and correct.
Comes complete with its original pink-lined brown hardshell case. Three latches are not working, but the case remains functional.
