1955 Gibson ES-225T – Sunburst

We present an original 1955 Gibson ES-225T in its original Sunburst finish. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

This vintage Gibson hollow body guitar is all original and 100% complete, except for new cream buttons on the original tuners. Otherwise it’s exactly like it left the Kalamazoo factory back in 1955. It is very common to replace these on guitars from that period, as they can shrink over time.

This Gibson ES-225T features a single cutaway thin body, one P-90 pickup, and a combination trapeze tailpiece/bridge (similar to early Gibson Les Paul models). Overall, this guitar is in excellent condition and even comes with the original hang tags. It has been well cared for over the years, showing only minor finish wear on the back of the neck along with a few dings, scratches, and other cosmetic play wear.

The frets are original and have plenty of life left. Strong 1955 mahogany neck with a dark rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot inlays. The single P-90 pickup in the middle position feeds to a single volume and tone control, with the output jack on the side. A stunning vintage hollow body guitar that sounds fantastic.

The pickup and electronics/wiring are untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints and no re-wound pickup. All original and correct.

Comes complete with its original and rare brown hardshell case. Latches and handle are in perfect working order.
